Borrowing From Other Libraries

What Do You Do If the Library Does Not Own the Book or Article that You Need?

The following services are available to all MSOE students, staff and faculty at no cost.

Interlibrary Loan

To request materials not owned by our library, fill out the correct form below. We will contact a library that has what you are looking for. Remember to plan ahead because it may take up to two weeks to obtain the material!

The Interlibrary Loan contact person is Denise Gergetz. Her telephone number is (414) 277-7182, and you can reach her by email at interlibraryloan@msoe.edu. For more information, please read the ILL policies.

InfoPass

With InfoPass, you visit local libraries yourself and check out books. InfoPass allows members of the MSOE community to check out circulating items from over 120 member libraries in the metro Milwaukee area. You must come to the MSOE Walter Schroeder Library to pick up an InfoPass to use at the other library. Items will check out for the time period specified by the loaning library. Up to three items can be borrowed, and must be returned to the loaning library by the date due. Ask a librarian about InfoPass.

Cooperative Lending Libraries

MSOE has a cooperative lending program with the Medical College of Wisconsin. With a valid MSOE ID, you are able to get a special borrower's card from the Medical College that allows you to check out their general collection books. In exchange for this privilege, we allow faculty, students and staff from the Medical College access to our collection.  Journals do not circulate, but you can make photocopies of articles (there is a charge for copying).  Search their online catalog to see what is available.

If you have questions about borrowing from other libraries, please contact the ILL Librarian or call (414) 277-7182.
