What Do You Do If the Library Does Not Own the Book or Article that You Need?
If the MSOE Library does not own a book or an article that you need, generally the item can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan. The library will attempt to obtain via Interlibrary Loan any book or article requested by a student or member of the faculty and staff of MSOE. Occasionally, the library is unable to obtain an item due to such factors as excessive cost or unavailability. In this case, library staff will work with customers in the effort to locate equivalent resources.
If you use Interlibrary Loan, try to initiate requests as soon as you possibly can. The average turnaround time for materials is about seven days.
With InfoPass, you visit local libraries yourself and check out books. Ask a librarian about InfoPass.
