Other Library Services

NERAC Information Services

  • NERAC is an information vendor that employs about 100 scientists, engineers, and other professionals all of whom have been trained as database searchers. NERAC's database searchers work directly with customers who have information and research requests. Database searchers search a large variety of technical and business databases in response to a customer's information request. Results are emailed (or posted in a private web space, or sent via mail) to customers. Results typically include a list of document citations.
  • NERAC database searchers search a large number of databases, including Aerospace Database, Chemical Engineering Abstracts, Computer Database, Energy Science and Technology Database, Engineered Materials Abstracts, INSPEC, and several other databases. A complete listing of databases is available on the NERAC website.
  • MSOE maintains a subscription to the NERAC service. Access to the service is mediated by the MSOE Library. Contact the library for details. For many research requests associated with thesis and capstone work, the library carries out a NERAC search in addition to its own searching.
