New Databases!
The Library Staff is pleased to announce the acquisition of these databases:
- Ebrary offers a rapidly growing selection of hundreds of thousands of authoritative e-books from over 500 publishers. Browse and search for titles in all academic subject areas. This database also offers a bookshelf for keeping track of your sources and for taking notes.
- GREENR (Global Reference on the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources), from Gale is a database with content on emerging green technologies, environmental issues, sustainability and more.
- IEEE e-Books provides access to more than 400 IEEE e-books, published from 1974-2011, most after the year 2000. Subject coverage includes bioengineering, circuit theory and design, communication technology, computing and processing, electrical engineering, engineered materials, intelligent systems, numerical methods, power technology and power engineering, RF, microwaves, robotics, control systems, and signals.
- Morgan and Claypool is a digital collection of unique and original e-titles that cover a variety of topics in engineering, computer sciences and other technical areas. The library has access to over 80 e-titles in four collections; Biomedical Engineering II, Digital Circuits I, Digital Circuits II, and General Engineering.
- The International Building Code (IBC) 2009, developed by the International Code Council. The IBC is a comprehensive code addressing the design and installation of building systems through requirements emphasizing performance. It establishes minimum regulations for building systems using prescriptive and performance-related provisions. Access to this database is restricted to MSOE AE and BC students and faculty.
- The ASCE Conference Proceedings from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This database indexes all the information published by the ASCE, including this new access to the conference proceedings. Search for conference proceedings and other ASCE publications through the ASCE Digital Library.
- PsycArticles from the American Psychological Association (APA), is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains approximately 150,000 articles from over 70 journals published by the APA, and its imprint the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF), and from allied organizations including the Canadian Psychology Association and Hogrefe Publishing Group.
- The Nursing Resource Center with Allied Health from Gale. This database is designed specifically for nursing students, but should also be useful for biomedical engineering students. This database indexes and abstracts nursing and allied health journals, and makes available the full text of most journal articles. However, the database is more than an article database. It also makes available the full text of nursing encyclopedias. It features animations, medical illustrations, disease overviews, drug information, assessment procedures, diagnostic procedures, intervention procedures, and sample care plans. It additionally features NCLEX help documentation and tutorials.
