Journal of Biomedical Materials Part A

Articles in Part A have to do with the "preparation, performance and evaluation of biomaterials; the chemical, physical, toxicological and mechanical behavior of materials in physiological environments, and the response of blood and tissues to biomaterials," according to the Aims and Scope of Part A.  "How alloys, polymers, ceramics, and reprocessed human and animal tissues used in surgery, dentistry, artificial organs are explored."
Journal of Biomedical Materials Part B - Applied Biomaterials

Part B, Applied Biomaterials, focuses on "device development, implant retrieval and analysis, manufacturing, regulation of devices, liability and legal issues, and standards," according to its Aims and Scope.

Since the name change in 2003, the library has subscribed to the Journal of Biomaterials Research Part A and the Journal of Biomaterials Research Part B-Applied Biomaterials. These two international, peer-reviewed publications used to be known just as the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, when the library started subscribing in 1984. We are the only library in the state that currently subscribes to these journals!


These are the official journals of the Society for Biomaterials, the Japanese Society for Biomaterials, the Australasian Society for Biomaterials, and the Korean Society for Biomaterials


Both journals are indexed in EI Compendex  and PubMed.  Use these indexes to search for information and articles within the journals.
