Welcome Week

New Student Orientation and Fun for Returning Students

Aug. 31 - Sept. 8, 2013

orientationWelcome Week is our way of acquainting you with YOUR university and people who care about you and your entire MSOE experience. We are proud of MSOE and want to show you why. MSOE is many things - certainly a place for learning and also a place for making new friends, for studying, for growing and for questioning. It is a place for activities, involvement, recreation and leadership. It is a place where you will make choices ... about classes, values, affiliations, friendships ... about LIFE! Our goal is to help you in making the most of your experience at MSOE.

Freshman and transfer students are required to attend Welcome Week.

Take the time to read through this entire site, including the schedule of events*, and discuss it with your family.

Note these important events during Welcome Week:

  • Information sessions: an opportunity for students and parents to pick up some great advice to start the year
  • Residence hall floor meetings: learn what's new this year for on-campus living and important guidelines
  • Academic department meetings/events: learn about specific information and guidance related to your academic department
  • Laptop pick-up and training: pick up your new laptop and attend training sessions
  • Fun activities: great entertainment throughout the weekend ... see the schedule for details

No advance sign-up is needed—all you have to do is show up.

If you’re unable to attend any part of Welcome Week, you must contact your academic advisor and notify the Student Activities Office prior to Welcome Week.

Have your family reserve their hotel rooms early! Be sure to mention that you are from MSOE for some hotels offer a discount during Welcome Week. You can check out the hotel guide to hotels in the area.

If you're looking for additional places to visit and things to do while in Milwaukee during Welcome Week, see the local attractions page.

If you have any questions regarding Welcome Week or orientation in general, please call us at (414) 277-7228.

"Welcome Week" is sure to be both informative and fun! You will meet many new people or simply renew your friendships by the time classes begin. Enjoy the days ahead, and we'll see you in the fall! We look forward to seeing you.
