Career Net TIPS

Career Net is MSOE's resume database.  Click here to learn the basics of how to build your resume in Career Net.

The following TIPS will help you maximize your use of Career Net:

 1) To ensure that you receive the proper e-mailed job announcements, you must select from the "Employment Preference" drop-down menu one of three categories for your resume:  

  • "Summer and/or Part time" - Resumes listed under this category will receive descriptions and announcements from employers looking for Interns and/or part-time candidates. 
  • "Entry Level" - Resumes listed under this category will receive descriptions and announcements from employers looking for graduating seniors or recently graduated alumni. 
  • "Position requiring experience" - Resumes listed under this category will receive descriptions and announcements from employers looking for alumni or other candidates with 3+ years of full-time experience in their professional field.
  • Contact the Career Placement Office (414-277-7120) with questions about your category.

 2) Utilize the spell-check feature, but also proofread your resume meticulously. Any simple mistake will make employers seriously question your attention to details.

 3) You MUST click Tab #4 ("Send for review") in order for your resume to be activated.

Check back often for information about specific resume sections (e.g. Objective, Qualifications, etc.)
