Congratulations May grads on your upcoming graduation!  We hope you are enjoying your last few weeks at MSOE while busily trying to finish senior design projects and final exams.  As graduation draws near, your job search will soon become your full-time job.  The more time and energy you can direct to effective job search strategies, the more success you will have.

Here are some important things to keep in mind for any job search:

1) Build or Upload your resume into Career Net (http://careernet.msoe.edu/) and keep it updated.

2) Build an online portfolio in Expressume (http://msoe.expressume.com/) and use it as a supplement to any resumes you send to employers.

3) Request from our staff the electronic lists of companies that have previously hired MSOE graduates in your major(s).  Those companies understand the value of an MSOE employee, and are good places to start your networking.

4) For networking, it's not always who you know, but rather who knows you.  Focus your efforts on helping others so that they will want to help you when the time comes.

5) Stop by the Career Placement Office to further discuss these and many other job search strategies.  We are here to help!

When you finalize your post-graduation job or graduate school plans, remember to please complete the online Graduate Survey (http://www.ioxphere.com/f.asp?A=PWGCHHP&B=BSWNVGF&C=2)
