1) Know your stuff (Research the company)

2) Show you're a good match for the job and company (Connect your skills to interests to what you learned in #1)

3) Don't be late (Plan ahead for possible traffic delays)

4) Don't be too early (Check in ~10 minutes prior to the interview)

5) Dress appropriately (You'd be surprised how a professional look can go a long way.  Also, SHOWER before the interview)

6) Practice the basics (Feel comfortable answering questions like "Tell me about yourself" and "What is your biggest weakness?")

7) Make the interviewer's job easy (Successful interviews are a conversation)

8) Prepare intelligent, thoughtful questions (Always ask what the next steps of the interview process are if you don't already know)

9) Have a professional, polished résumé (no typos, generic skills/traits, or unprofessional information)

10) Don't forget your manners (Be polite to everyone you meet at the company, including the receptionist, and send a Thank You note within 24 hours)

11) Ask for the job (Be assertive and demonstrate your passion for the job and company)
