Notes from NACE - Study Abroad

This post is being written from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) annual conference.  Everyone knows that study abroad or other international exposures are great experiences to have.

A recent study, though, indicates that employers do not outright value the experience itself over other things like internships and service learning.

However, the study did show that employers highly value the types of skills that we know students develop while studying abroad.

Therefore, it is up to the student to describe how you developed those skills during their abroad experiences, and how those skills will translate into success at the company.

Skills include inter/intrapersonal, responsibility, integrity, self awareness, global awareness, appreciation of differences, etc.
