Welcome back, MSOE students, and welcome to all the new freshmen and transfer students! Don't wait to build or upload your resume into Career Net, as the school year will only get busier. You don't want to miss out on any job or internship opportunities!
Why and How to Post a Resume in MSOE Career Net
Benefits of a Career Net resume:
1) Employers can view your resume online and contact you directly.
2) Employers send job descriptions to the MSOE Career Placement Office every day, which are then forwarded to you via e-mail.
3) Employers post job descriptions directly on Career Net which you can view online.
4) A Career Net resume makes MSOE students and alumni eligible for on-campus interviews.
5) Receive feedback and advice from the MSOE Career Placement Office regarding your resume and job search.

How to build a Career Net resume:
There are two methods for putting a resume in Career Net. You can use the template or simply upload an MS Word or PDF document.
Template:
1) Log in by clicking "Build a Resume" at http://careernet.msoe.edu
2) Click Tab #1 to build your resume. Don't forget to SAVE your resume.
3) Click Tab #2 to select your formatting options.
4) Click Tab #3 to PREVIEW your résumé to see that everything is formatted properly.
5) Click Tab #4 to "Send for Review" at which point your resume will be reviewed and you may be sent suggestions. Your resume will then be "enabled" into the database and will be viewable by employers. You will begin to receive job descriptions and interview announcements via the e-mail address you entered into your resume.
Upload:
1) Log in by clicking "Build a Resume" at http://careernet.msoe.edu
2) At the bottom of the main menu, select "Click Here" to upload your resume.
3) Browse for the file you want to upload.
4) Enter the required information so your resume can be searchable. Click "Upload Resume."
5) Click Tab #4 at the top of the main menu to "Send for Review."
Career Net resume TIPS:
- To ensure that you receive the proper e-mailed job announcements, you must select from the "Employment Preference" or "Experience" drop-down menus one of three categories for your resume:

- "Summer and/or Part time" - Interns and/or part-time candidates.
- "Entry Level" - Graduating seniors or recently graduated alumni.
- "Position requiring experience" - Alumni or other candidates with 3+ years of full-time experience in their professional field.
- Contact the Career Placement Office with questions about your category.
- Utilize the spell-check feature, but also proofread your resume very carefully.
- You MUST click Tab #4 ("Send for Review") in order for your resume to be activated.
