Internships

MSOE's internship program is a valuable resource. Internship candidates at MSOE are preparing to enter careers where they will help American business and industry regain or maintain its "competitive edge." Typically, 80 to 85% of our seniors have internship work experiences. These opportunities become available through the Career Services Department, faculty referrals, and through contacts made by students.

Internships help create a bridge between the classroom and the workplace and provide a skill building, experienced based learning opportunity. Work experiences help students to further define his/her career goals, develop additional skills, and become work ready.

Student interns can help employers get projects off the back burner! They bring enthusiasm and a new perspective to what might seem like routine projects. Student interns provide the employer the opportunity to evaluate potential employees prior to commitment to full-time positions.

Who is eligible?

Students are eligible if they have good academic and student standing, and have completed their sophomore year at MSOE.

Companies are eligible if they are willing to (1) place student employees in jobs which allow for application of classroom-acquired skills on the job, (2) allow student employees to work as part of an engineering technical, health care, or business professional team, and (3) allow student employees to progress to areas of increased responsibility earned through excellent job performance.
