The Walter Schroeder Library welcomes MSOE alumni to use its collection and many of its services.
Alumni may check out books (see below) and use many of the in-house services we provide. In order for you to check out books, library personnel will need to verify your status as an alumnus of MSOE. Please allow time (up to 24 hours) for library staff to obtain verification -- you may call the front desk (414) 277-7180 in advance to start the verification process before your visit.

Web-based access to the Library Catalog is available.
CD-ROM database workstations are available for use by alumni. Due to the fact that many of our indexes and databases are available exclusively through the Internet, and are furthermore regulated by licensing/copyright/contractual strictures, access to these Internet-based databases is limited to those individuals who have valid MSOE computer accounts.
Borrowing Privileges
- General collection and Government Documents -- 21 days plus 1 renewal (if not on hold). Borrowers may check out up to 3 items.
- Periodicals -- in-house use.
- Newspapers -- in-house use.
- Microfiche -- in-house use.
- Audiovisuals -- in-house use.
Reference Service Privileges
- Bibliographic assistance.
- CD-ROM workstations.
Services NOT Available to Alumni
- Interlibrary Loan.
- InfoPass.
- Online database searching.
- Access to periodical indexes, databases, and other services limited to those with valid MSOE computer accounts.
