Student Attendance Policy
Milwaukee School of Engineering expects all students to attend regularly and
promptly all lectures, laboratories, and other sessions of courses for which
they are registered. It is the student's responsibility to add and drop
classes from his or her academic schedule.
Faculty members have the option of developing a policy concerning grade
reduction or dropping students from excessive absence from class. Any policy
of this nature must be announced to the student during the first week of
class and must be made available in writing upon request. A student dropped
under such a policy must obtain written permission from the instructor to
re-enter class. The instructor must inform the Registrar's Office if any
student is re-admitted to class. Laboratory and examination attendance is
mandatory. In the event of an excused absence, arrangements shall be made
with the instructor in advance for make-up.
Excused absence for a field trip or other college sponsored activity requires
one week advance written notice with the approval of the chief academic
officer.
