The questions below will help you to determine if you should see a health care provider.
Group A. Check all symptoms that you are experiencing
____Dry, hacking cough
____Cough producing clear or white mucous
____Runny nose with clear or white mucous
____Stuffy nose with clear or white or yellow mucous
____Sore or scratchy throat
____Ear plugging, popping or "stuffy clogged ears"
____Headache, that lessens with pain medication
____Muscle aches
____Tender or
swollen glands in neck
Group B. Check all symptoms that you are experiencing
____Temperature of > 101 degrees F for more than one day
____Rash
____Headache not relieved by over-the-counter medication
____White patches/spots on tonsils/throat (use mirror to look)
____Sore throat for longer than 3 days ____exposed to person with strep
____Cough longer than 1 week which is getting worse
____Cough with thick green/yellow or blood-tinged mucous
____Chest pain ____wheezing, _____shortness of breath (check all that apply)
____Ear ache or ear pain ____ear drainage
____Nasal discharge that is green/yellow or blood tinged
____Sinus
pain
If all of your
symptoms are in Group A and your temperature is below 101 degrees F, you most
likely have a common cold or viral infection. You may want to try an
over-the-counter cold relief medication; if no improvement and it has been more
than 7-10 days since initial symptoms, make an appointment in Health Services by

If your symptoms
are in Group B, you should consider seeing a health care professional. Please
call Health Services for an appointment at 414-277-7590.
