Three Steps To Preventing Back Injuries

Many people can say that sometime throughout their life they have experienced some sort of back pain or diagnosed back injury. It is my intention to arm you with three simple actions to help your reduce the risk of having to experience this common aliment.

The Three-Step approach to a healthier back includes the following:

1. Proper Lifting Technique: Improper lifting is often a common mechanism of injury. Utilize the Diagonal Lift for activities of daily living, and lifting wherever possible to help reduce the chances of back injury while lifting.

2. Strengthening: Using the Prone Opposite Alternating Arm and Leg Lift can help support the spine and strengthen the musculature of the back that is often injured.

3. Stretching: Stretches such as the Single knee to Chest before and after physical activity can help prevent back injuries by increasing the flexibility of back musculature.
