Community Service at MSOE

At MSOE there are many opportunities for students to get involved in projects that greatly improve communities both here and abroad. They range from a three-hour long project on campus to a weeks-long international project in countries like Kenya or Guatemala.

MSOE students have worked on projects as diverse as building a wheelchair-accessible dock at a summer camp in Wisconsin, providing health care to Milwaukee’s homeless population, building a school and computer lab in a remote village in Kenya and building bridges vital to rural communities in South America. If students don't see a project that interests them, they are encouraged to develop their own.

Many projects encompass the ideals of Servant-Leadership, which allows students to participate in service projects while honing their leadership skills. Click on one of the links below to learn more about the variety of projects available or contact Dr. David Howell, MSOE’s Chair of Servant-Leadership, for more information on how you can get involved.

Some of our volunteer activities

St. Baldrick's Day - more than 100 students and faculty had their heads shaved in this student-run fundraiser. The event raised for then $5,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds research for childhood cancer.
