MSOE sinks a second place finish in concrete canoe contest

A team of MSOE students placed second in the regional Concrete Canoe Competition held May 1-3 in Evansville, Ind. The team advances to the national competition this summer at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
The MSOE team, comprising members of the student American Society of Civil Engineers, placed first in the technical design paper, first in the oral presentation, and third overall in the races that include men’s, women’s, and coed sprints, and men’s and women’s endurance races.
MSOE teams also competed in the steel bridge competition, environmental engineering design competition and the concrete baseball bat competition
