Kern Center welcomes marathon runners and pro hockey this weekend

Participants in Milwaukee's Lakefront Marathon will pick up their packets and attend a fitness expo at MSOE's Kern Center Friday, Sept. 30 (4-7 p.m.) and Saturday, Oct. 1 (9 a.m.-6 p.m.). Last year's event attracted 2,700 runners. For more information on the marathon and the expo, log onto Milwaukee's Lakefront Marathon's Web site, http://www.badgerlandstriders.org/lakefront/.
Also Saturday, the Kern Center Ice Arena hosts the Milwaukee Admirals vs. Chicago Wolves 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. The Wolves come to Milwaukee for the first game of a home-and-home exhibition series between the two American Hockey League clubs. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Admirals office by calling (414) 227-0550. Tickets also will be available the night of the game at the Kern Center.
