WMSE and Eisner museum host blues concert, exhibit

Imagine CD's with no great cover art or a world without cool concert posters and ads. With the exception of The Beatles' "White Album," it would be a dull world indeed. Or imagine TV and radio commercials without music?

Radio station WMSE 91.7 FM and the Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design are teaming up to get folks to think about the intertwined relationship of art and music. A display of local artists' design work for band CD's, posters and flyers will be on view Wednesday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Eisner museum. Relive the history of some of the city's best music via the work of these hardworking visual artists.

On Thursday, Aug. 11 WMSE and the Eisner co-host AD Jam, where Mississippi Cactus, Andrew Gelles and Alex Wilson, who perform at Milwaukee Ale House. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9. Admission to the Ale House blues event is $7 or just $1 for members of either the Eisner museum or WMSE. As an added bonus, WMSE and the Eisner will be offering a special joint discount to everyone in attendance. Become a member of both organizations for only $40, the price of a regular membership with WMSE alone!
