Baseball coach to enter Hall of Fame

MSOE baseball coach and former athletic director Len VandenBoom will be inducted into the Wisconsin Old Time Baseball Players Association Hall of Fame this Sunday at Serb Hall, 5301 W. Oklahoma Ave. The induction dinner will be held at 6 p.m., with VandenBoom's induction ceremony to follow.
VandenBoom brought the Raiders six straight conference titles in the late 1970s. He was also the school's first athletic director in 1973.
VandenBoom ran the MSOE baseball program from in 1974 through 1981, earning conference coach of the year honors in 1981. After a 15-year hiatus, VandenBoom returned to MSOE in 1996 to guide the baseball program once again.
In January of 1998, VandenBoom was inducted into the MSOE Athletic Hall of Fame. VandenBoom has a bachelor's degree in industrial education and a master's degree in educational administration. VandenBoom, a long time Dean, now serves in the MSOE Registrar's office.
