Sleepytime Gorilla Museum returns for MSOE concert
Independent radio station 91.7 FM WMSE welcomes Sleepytime Gorilla Museum for a return engagement at the Todd Wehr Conference Center, 1047 N. Broadway, on the MSOE campus this Friday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m., with Kopecky and Wooden Robot. The Oakland, Calif., art-rockers (WMSE Station Manager Tom Crawford's favorite band) bring their incredible stage show back to Milwaukee for a special low-priced concert. Tickets are only $10 and are available at Atomic Records or at http://wmse.musictoday.com.
Restaurants support independent radio in Milwaukee
Nearly 30 restaurants will cook their favorite dishes for the fourth annual WMSE Food Slam 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. The fundraising event will support the independent radio station 91.7 FM WMSE. For a $25 donation ($20 for WMSE club card holders), attendees will sample dishes and beverages from Milwaukee's favorite restaurants, including Gil's Café, Q Real American Food, Roots, Hi Hat Lounge, Mia Famiglia, Nanakusa, Tenuta's Italian Restaurant and Nessun Dorma. The evening will include a silent and live auction benefit.
A cash bar will be available and WMSE deejays will spin at The William F. Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design, 208 N. Water St.
