Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) wraps-up this season's Great Books Dinner and Discussion Series 5:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 with a discussion of The Lord of the Rings followed by a Rings-themed gourmet dinner. The discussion of Tolkien's epic fantasy led by Dr. Katie Wikoff, MSOE associate professor, will be followed by a chef-prepared meal including "Short Cut to Stuffed Mushrooms" appetizer, a "Samwise Gamgee Mixed Greens" salad, "Aragorn Roasted Pork Tenderloin" and "Gollum's Precious Dirt Cake" for dessert.
Even the program's location is inspirational: MSOE's stately Alumni Partnership Center, former headquarters of Blatz Brewery built in 1890. The cost is $50 and includes handout materials. For information, contact MSOE's Cathy Varebrook at (414) 277-4523 or varebroo@msoe.edu.
