Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is hosting a workshop focusing on federal funding opportunities for technology research related to Homeland Security by small businesses.

The workshop, a response to the federal government’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, will be held 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1 at MSOE’s Alumni Partnership Center, 1120 N. Broadway.

Dr. Brian Curry and topical experts from Southeastern Wisconsin law and accounting firms will present the program. The purpose of SBIR and STTR programs is to harness the innovative talents of small technology companies for U.S. military and economic strength.

The program is sponsored, in part, by Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, TechStar, WE Energies and Wisconsin Institute/WPI.

The cost is $75 with discounted rate of $25 for students; it includes lunch. Online registration is available at www.wispro.org/events.asp.
