MSOE invites companies to get a “first look” at recent advancements in rapid prototyping technology at an April 21 workshop.
Advancements made in rapid technologies over the last few years have opened a new range of applications and increased the impact the technology can have on time-to-market, product quality and cost. The workshop will help companies take a new look at the technology and receive the information needed to evaluate rapid technologies based on business and technical criteria.
Sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the half-day workshop includes case-study discussions where rapid technologies offered competitive advantage and a tour of MSOE’s renowned Rapid Prototyping Center, which houses six leading RP technologies. Also, Todd Grimm, industry expert and author of SME's new book, "User’s Guide to Rapid Prototyping,” will provide an unbiased overview of the various technologies, materials and processes.
The workshop runs 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 21; it costs $50 or $25 for SME members. For more information or to register, visit SME at www.sme.org/firstlook. Those who pre-register with MSOE will receive a free consulting session relating to product engineering and development. Contact MSOE’s Lynne Crowley to schedule a session, (414) 277-7269 or learn@msoe.edu.
MSOE is an independent university with about 2,400 students. MSOE offers 16 bachelor's degrees and six master's degrees in the engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering and building construction, computer, business and health-related fields.
