Symposium highlights barriers in environment that disabled face

MSOE is hosting a two-part Symposium and Demonstration April 26 and 28 focusing on barriers for people with physical and other disabilities and the role Universal Design plays in accessibility. The program is coordinated by MSOE’s Architectural Engineering Department and TRIO Programs.

PART 1 -- Symposium/Panel Discussion
WHEN: Noon-1:30 p.m. Monday, April 26
WHERE: MSOE Campus Center, 1025 N. Broadway, floor 3, Multipurpose Room

PART 2 --Barrier/Obstacle Course
WHEN: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28
WHERE: MSOE Todd Wehr Auditorium, 1047 N. Broadway, floor 1
WHO: In order to simulate challenges of disabled, six teams will attempt to maneuver a barrier/obstacle course in Conference Center and outdoors using either a wheelchair or a cane and blindfold.
