WMSE 91.7 fm's on-air membership drive was a success, raising $101,020. The independent station, owned and operated by MSOE, hoped to raise $100,000. Drive highlights included in-studio performances by local and national acts.
WMSE is offering a brand new pledge premium: Volume III in the "Live at WMSE" series of compilation CD's, titled “I'll Be Speaker Girl.” The latest disc features in-studio performances from The Promise Ring, Clem Snide, The Etiquette, Codebreaker, Telectro, Poor Rich Ones, and more.
A donor appreciation show featuring the Waco Bros. is slated for 8 p.m. Friday, May 14. The six-piece band, and a number of like-minded label-mates on Chicago’s Bloodshot Records, is blurring the lines between country and punk with high-energy irreverence for all-things Nashville. Milwaukee’s The Probers will open the show at MSOE’s Todd Wehr Conference Center (1047 N. Broadway). Admission is $8 or free with a WMSE club card. A cash bar will be available.
