A dozen restaurants and beverage vendors will cook their favorite dishes for the second annual WMSE Food Slam on 7-10 p.m. Saturday, May 17. The fundraising event will support the independent radio station 91.7 FM WMSE.
For a $30 donation ($25 for WMSE club card holders), attendees will sample dishes and coffees from some of Milwaukee’s favorite restaurants including Gil’s Café, Grenadiers , Simma’s, Chipotle, Hi Hat Lounge, Mia Famiglia, Nanakusa, Elliot’s Bistro, Wild Flour Bakery, County Clare, McBob’s and MSOE Food Service. The evening will include a silent and live auction benefit.
A cash bar will be available and WMSE deejays will spin modern ambiance into MSOE’s historic Alumni Partnership Center, a cream-city brick and limestone building built in 1890 as the headquarters for Blatz Brewing Co.
This week, WMSE concluded its on-air Spring Fundraising Drive, raising more than $101,000 – the largest fund-drive ever.
