Wrestlers win tournament championship Raiders finish in 7th place

Matt Huset and Matt Schoenherr continued their winning ways as they each won the challenging Al Hanke Invitational.
Huset extended his winning streak to 26 matches and upped his season record to 28 wins and one loss as he won four matches to claim the title. He won his matches by the scores of 9-1, pin in 4:43; a second 9-1 victory; and won the championship match by the score of 4-2 in the 197 pound weight class.
Matt Schoenherr won the 285-pound title in a convincing fashion as he recorded pins in his first three matches in times of 3:00, 4:00 and 3:27. He won the championship match by a score of 3-2. MSOE’s 149-pound wrestlers scored a number of victories: Bryant Johnson won three matches, Josh Rocholl won two and Matt Letto won one match. John Knowles and Greg Snow also won a match at the 157 and 165 pound weight classes. The Raiders finished in 7th place in the 16-team tournament.
