MSOE Wins Awards for Student Activities

     Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) recently was recognized at the National Association for Campus Activities' (NACA) 2008 Northern Plains Regional Programming Conference. Fourteen students traveled to the conference to give presentations to students from other universities: "Programming from Start to Finish" and "100 Programs Under $100," and accept a number of awards on behalf of the university.
     The MSOE delegation won the following awards:

OUTSTANDING DELEGATION AWARD
The conference's highest honor is given to the university with the best delegation at the conference including consideration of programming events on campus, volunteerism, presentations, graphic arts competition and positive interaction with the other attending universities and colleges.

NACA SERIES PROGRAMMING AWARD
MSOE's "Discover Milwaukee" series was recognized as the region's single best series of programs for students to participate in. 

FIRST PLACE MULTI-COLOR CLOTHING ITEM DESIGN
The MSOE T-shirt that is used to advertise the MSOE Battle of the Bands competition was voted the region's best multi-color clothing design in the graphic arts competition.

SECOND PLACE MULTI-COLOR SERIES ADVERTISING (Graphic Arts Competition)
MSOE's Student Union Board's series advertising "Homecoming 2-007 (James Bond)" was voted the region's second best multi-color advertising series in the graphic arts competition.

MUCAO INNOVATIVE PROGRAMMING AWARD
MSOE's "President's Mini-Golf Outing" was named the most innovative program in an award presented by the Milwaukee University and College Activities Organization (MUCAO).

     The NACA Northern Plains Conference covers campus events and activities, student orientation and programming, events marketing, and student development in all areas of co-curricular learning.  The Northern Plains Region covers all the universities and colleges in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and the Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and western Ontario.  About 700 delegates from almost 100 universities and colleges attended the conference. 
     MSOE is an independent university with about 2,500 students. MSOE offers 17 bachelor's degrees and 10 master's degrees in the engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering and building construction, computer, business and health-related fields.
