MSOE students win national AEI awards

The Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) has recognized Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) with two prestigious awards. In September, 15 members of MSOE's AEI student chapter attended AEI's annual National Professional Conference in Denver to accept the awards and learn more about the architectural engineering industry.

Jason Leffingwell, a May 2008 MSOE graduate, was named "2008 Most Outstanding Student Leader" and the 2007-08 AEI-MSOE chapter was named "2008 Most Outstanding Student Chapter." The awards were received for the students' dedication to disability and accessibility awareness in the area of building study and development, and in particular for their involvement with MSOE's 2007 Wheelchair Days event. This event was one of the largest and most successful in the nation, bringing together more than 100 students and community members to raise awareness of the challenges that are met and overcome every day for people with disabilities. AEI-MSOE has a membership base of more than 40 students.
