Congratulations to MSOE's Fall Class of 2009. More than 50 undergraduate and 28 graduate students in engineering majors, the Rader School of Business and the School of Nursing received their diplomas Nov. 21. They join the ranks of more than 19,000 alumni worldwide.
Carl R. Marschke delivered the keynote address and received an Honorary Doctor of Engineering during MSOE's Commencement. He told MSOE's newest alumni, "MSOE graduates are pragmatic, practical, hard working, technically competent individuals who make excellent employees. You have gained competencies here. Do not be afraid to use them to your best advantage. Your hard work will be very well recognized by industry."
Marschke is president of Innomation Inc. and an MSOE Regent and supporter.
In 2007, he founded Innomation Inc., where he develops innovative solutions in the building materials industry, including developing production machinery that creates what he named Corrucomb®, a low core-density material for modular building panels. Marschke founded Marquip Inc. in 1968. Today, MarquipWardUnited is an international market leader in high-speed corrugating, finishing and sheeting machinery for the corrugated box and paper converting industries. Both companies are headquartered in Phillips, Wis.
Aditionally, Marschke founded the Young Scientists of America organization, which promotes an interest in science, math and technology in young people ages 8-18 through hands-on experience in scientific or technical areas with the interaction of sponsors, mentors or instructors.
