Academics always come first at MSOE and that is never more true than with Austin Meier. The leading scoring on the Raider Men's Basketball team, Meier was named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-America First Team. Meier is a double major in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management and holds a 3.95 GPA. He is averaging almost 17 points per contest.
In the Northern Athletics Conference, Meier is sixth in scoring, fourth in rebounding, fourth in field goal percentage, second in steals and second in blocks. He's received high honors for the last eight quarters at MSOE.
Also, Meier was named NAC Student-Athlete of the week for his performances in MSOE's victories over Dominican and Edgewood last week. Meier picked up two more double-doubles as scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the Stars while he put in 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the NAC Challenge game against the Eagles.
Meier and his teammates begin the NAC Tournament Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Kern Center against Rockford. That game will tip off at 7 p.m.
