MSOE wins award for student activities

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) was recognized at the National Association for Campus Activities' (NACA) 2010 Northern Plains Regional Programming Conference. Nick Seidler, assistant director of student activities, received the Outstanding Advisor Award for his service to MSOE, significant involvement with the students and campus, creative and innovative efforts, and involvement with NACA.
According to Tim Paladin, president of the MSOE Student Union Board (SUB), "Nick was nominated by SUB for his exceptional efforts to improve our university's campus life. Be it through new and fun activities and programs, the late hours put into activity intensive weeks such as Homecoming and St. Pat's Week, or helping each and every one of us improve ourselves under his mentoring, Nick has been a shining example of this award."
MSOE received a number of first place awards at the conference including: One-Color Poster/Flyer for the SUB/DSP Sumo Suit Day; Multicolor Clothing Item for the MSOE St. Patrick's Day Shirts; Themed Publicity for the Snowflake Creation Event, Leather Stamping Event, and Root Beer Making Event; and Web Page Design for SUB's updated website and news design. MSOE received honorable mention in the Miscellaneous Publicity category for SUB's Presidential Mini-Golf 2010 Video.
The NACA Northern Plains Conference covers campus events and activities, student orientation and programming, events marketing, and student development in all areas of co-curricular learning. The Northern Plains Region covers all the universities and colleges in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and the Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and western Ontario.
MSOE is an independent university with 2,600 students. MSOE offers 17 bachelor's degrees and nine master's degrees in the engineering, engineering technology, architectural engineering and building construction, computer, business and health-related fields.
