Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) was recognized at the National Association for Campus Activities' (NACA) 2009 Northern Plains Regional Programming Conference. MSOE won the NACA Series Programming Award for its "Weekly Mini-Games" series. The award recognizes the program as the region's single best series of programs for students to participate in.
The Mini-Games, sponsored by the MSOE Student Union Board (SUB), take place once a week during a free hour when students do not have classes. The popular program offers students a chance to relax between classes, and gives them an opportunity to win prizes. Mini-Games include: fish bowl toss, tape roll, paper airplane toss, roulette, tropical plant jungle mini-golf, make your own root beer and more.
The NACA Northern Plains Conference covers campus events and activities, student orientation and programming, events marketing, and student development in all areas of co-curricular learning. The Northern Plains Region covers all the universities and colleges in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and the Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and western Ontario.
