Scott C. Weaver joins MSOE staff

Milwaukee School of Engineering welcomes Scott C. Weaver, JD as its director of planned giving. Weaver was hired as part of the John and Linda Mellowes Planned Giving Initiative, with funding provided by the Charter Manufacturing Company Foundation Inc. With this new initiative, the university wants to encourage alumni and supporters to include MSOE in their financial and estate planning.
Prior to joining MSOE, Weaver was the director of gift planning for the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus
where he was responsible for planned giving and major gifts for a seven-state Province, managing some events, staff and clergy, and also planning activities for and maintaining relationships with major donors. Weaver also served as director of planned giving at Cardinal Stritch University.
In addition to his experience in planned giving, Weaver worked in the investment industry, where he managed a portfolio of $100 million dollars and helped approximately 250 clients choose the right products and services to meet their needs. He also worked for a local law firm, handling clients’ trust administration, probate and estate planning for nearly 30 years; and was vice president of the trust department at a local bank.
Weaver earned his doctor of jurisprudence at Valparaiso University School of Law and bachelor’s degree in history and English from Marquette University. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Leave a Legacy, and Society of Financial Service Professionals. He is a past member of the Milwaukee Estate Planning Council, Planned Giving Council Board, Association of Fund Raising Professionals Board and Cardinal Stritch University Business Advisory Board. Weaver is also a past member of the Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce, and a very proud volunteer with VITAS.
MSOE is an independent university with 2,600 students.
