- Nursing chair awarded for contributions to community (12/13/2006) Dr. Debra Jenks, chairwoman of the MSOE School of Nursing, received the Hope and Spirit Award from Froedtert Hospital.
- MSOE Announces 2006 Fall Dean's List (12/07/2006) Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) has released its Fall Quarter Dean's List.
- MSOE basketball hosts Engineers Classic (12/01/2006) The MSOE mens basketball team will host the second annual Raiders Engineers Classic Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Kern Center.
- Rufus King, Homestead and Vernon Hills are tops in competition (11/28/2006) MSOE's annual Opportunity Conference drew teams from throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois to compete and demonstrate excellence in the areas of computers, mathematics and science.
- MSOE fall commencement this Saturday (11/15/2006) More than 70 students will receive their bachelors and masters degrees at MSOEs Fall Commencement, slated for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18.
- MSOE welcomes new Corporation members (11/15/2006) MSOE recently welcomed nine new members, including four alumni, to its Corporate Board.
- MSOE hockey action free to military this Saturday (Veterans Day) (11/09/2006) The nationally-ranked MSOE Raiders hockey team will take-on rivals U of M-Crookston Saturday at 2 p.m. Because its Veterans Day, all military personnel with military ID and their families will receive free admission. A free open skate follows the game.
- Portion of Kern Center to posthumously honor alumnus (10/31/2006) A portion of the Kern Center, MSOEs athletic, health and wellness center, was recently dedicated posthumously to an MSOE alumnus and his wife.
- Intellectual Capital explores advances of science in the 16th and 17th centuries (10/03/2006) While the vast majority of MSOEs Man at Work art collection depicts physical labor, a new exhibition titled Intellectual Capital displays the brainier side of the 16th and 17th centuries.

- Man at Work painting in Bilbao exhibit (10/02/2006) An oil painting from Man at Work: The Eckhart G. Grohmann Collection at Milwaukee School of Engineering, is on loan to a major international exhibition in Bilbao, Spain.
- Taste 25 local restaurants at WMSE Food Slam (09/27/2006) This fun-filled food tasting, silent auction and raffle Friday, Oct. 6 is an annual fundraiser for radio station WMSE. Twenty-five restaurants have been chosen to participate and the event will be limited to 500 people. There will also be an exhibit celebrating 25 years of WMSE. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online, www.wmse.org/, or at the door. It will be held 6 10 p.m. at the Willliam F. Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design.
- MSOE art museum renovation begins (09/20/2006) The demolition for renovation of MSOEs art museum at Broadway and State Street has begun. The 38,000-square-foot building will feature a three-story steel and glass atrium entrance and a rooftop sculpture garden. When completed, it will provide space to display MSOEs Man at Work art collection and General Studies faculty.

- MSOE students will be encouraged to think like entrepreneurs (09/14/2006) MSOE will foster more innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset among its students through a new collaboration with its Rader School of Business Center for Entrepreneurship, faculty input and private funds.
- MSOE plans to add mens varsity rowing (09/14/2006) By next fall MSOE will be home to Milwaukees first college varsity rowing team, as a result of student interest, startup funds from an anonymous donor and a unique collaboration between MSOE Athletics and Milwaukee Rowing Club.
- MSOE environmental symposia announced (09/13/2006) Sustainability will be the theme of this years three-part symposia program sponsored by MSOEs Master of Science in Environmental Engineering program. The first program is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 10.
- Shellac plays Todd Wehr tonight (09/11/2006) Tonight, Monday, Sept. 11, music returns to MSOE's Todd Wehr Conference Center, 1047 N. Broadway, when internationally hailed, minimalist rock band Shellac hits the stage with Uzeda.
- MSOE welcomes students back to campus (08/31/2006) Although summer brings sun, festivals and many high school students and visitors to campus, MSOE truly comes alive each fall when our students return for the new academic year. This years freshman class the largest in recent history with at least 676 students and their families are joined by returning students for Orientation and Welcome over Labor Day weekend. The schedule of activities includes ice skating in the Kern Center, a professional hypnotist show Friday night, the Presidents Picnic Saturday at noon, and a Pancake Breakfast Monday morning. - MSOE Undergraduate Engineering Programs ranked 9th in U.S. News (08/22/2006) MSOE was again among U.S. News & World Reports Best Colleges and Universities in the country, ranking 9th in the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs category, among colleges whose highest degree is a bachelors or masters.
- Undergrads research rapid prototyping at MSOE this summer (08/14/2006) Nine undergraduates from around the country were selected to participate in innovative research program at MSOE this summer, funded by the National Science Foundation and MSOEs Rapid Prototyping Consortium.
- Wisconsin teens attend MSOE summer program through Women in Technology scholarships (08/08/2006) Three Wisconsin teens received scholarships to attend MSOEs Discover the Possibilities summer program. The scholarships were provided by MSOEs Women in Technology Program, which encourages female students in rural Wisconsin to pursue science, technology, engineering and math fields.

- Hockey player chosen to regional Academic All-America First Team (06/02/2006) Hockey player Brian Soik was chosen as a College Division First Team Region Five Academic All-America At-Large selection, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSida).
- MSOE readies for Spring Commencement (05/23/2006) More than 350 students will receive bachelors and masters degrees at MSOEs Spring Commencement 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27 at MSOEs Kern Center. The student class respondent will be Daniel Regner, and the speakers are: Dr. Stefan Bartels, rector of the Fachhochschule Lübeck, Germany; and James I. Finley, deputy under secretary of defense, Acquisition and Technology, U.S. Department of Defense, and a 1968 alumnus.
- MSOE fundraising campaign an unprecedented success (05/23/2006) The largest fundraising campaign in MSOE's history has concluded and, after final tabulation, MSOE reports the receipt of $77 million in gifts, exceeding its $48 million goal.
- Experts on trade and exports to speak at MSOE (04/20/2006) Milwaukee small businesses and MSOE students will have one-on-one access to information on trade and exports Monday, May 8, as experts will discuss opportunities for new-to-export and new-to-market companies who want to do business in the Middle East and North Africa.
- Major gift to MSOE encourages persistence of servant-leadership program (04/18/2006) One year into a multi-year program that was to infuse and promote the concept of servant-leadership at MSOE, the projects benefactor, the S&R Pieper Family Foundation, is encouraged by its progress and has donated another $100,000 for its growth. It encourages service to others in the form of student formation, community partnerships, curricular and faculty development, staff support, and health and wellness.

Finley 68, recently appointed Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology in the U.S. Department of Defense; and Dr. Stefan Bartels, Rektor of the Fachhochschule Lübeck, Germany, a university with which MSOE has forged unique study-abroad agreements.
- MSOE researcher examines silting and contaminant lock in hydraulic valves (04/12/2006) MSOE Associate Professor Vincent Prantil, Ph.D., was named the universitys 2006-07 Otto Maha Faculty Research Fellowship. Prantil will research "Analysis of Silting and Contaminant Lock in Hydraulic Valves Using Analogies to Granular Flow.
