Paige,  do you mean that you can't do dance team and ROTC?

Noo, I might not get accept to MSOE. I struggle with testing and the ACT.... And I haven't found out about that yet. But I'm on a list for the NROTC with my recruiter because I need to get a better english ACT score and I have 1 more chance.... I'm nervous scared and don't know what to think. And it's just because the ACT is getting in the way. I'm so stressed and So confused and hurt. I want out of this town. So I might just go into the Navy as enlisted and go from there. I'm not sure..... /:

I'm so sorry to hear you are facing this stress.  I, too, struggled with the ACT so I can feel your pain.  Have you reached out to support at your school?  Is there a teacher, guidance counselor, friend, parent who might be able to give you some tips?  Cindy Kotlarek helps with writing here.  Maybe she has a few suggestions.

it's basically english and reading. I didn't sign up to do the writing portion because I don't need that as much as i need to focus on my english.

I had problems with reading comprehension.  Maybe Jake Bradley or Mitch Trewyn have some ideas.

Hi Paige, I have been having some trouble logging onto The Hub, so I didn't get to comment on this until now.  When I took the ACT I was told that reading tutors may be the best tutors to look into, solely because they not only help you to do better in the reading section, but they allow you to better comprehend the other questions of other sections that you are reading.

Another suggestion I would make is to not get to excited the night before or day of the test.  This is a tactic I have really carried onto MSOE as well.  Staying calm helps to make sure you're not second guessing yourself along with just being relaxed.

Personally I achieve this by watching car videos within the hour before the test, it just gets my mind off the test and potential stress of remembering everything.  This may seem like it would be a bit counter-productive, but it's just an idea as it's what works best for me.

If you need any other advice or help about MSOE or ACT's or anything for that matter, feel free to contact me!

Thank You a lot Mitch! That just gave me a little bit of hope. I'm gonna try everything for the Act i'm taking in december because that's the last one to qualify for the NROTC program... But I still might continue to take the test because i'd love to go to MSOE.... Everyone has been helpful and nice except a couple. But yes... I'll try and contact you. haha
