Biography: Dr. Jackman majored in chemistry at Marquette University, receiving an honors BS degree. She went on to obtain an MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee, with a specialization in the thermal sciences and energy engineering. She worked for 7 years in industry (at Aqua Chem, Inc. ) before entering academia. While at Aqua Chem, she designed and tested membrane-based water purification systems and thermal distillation equipment, for both industrial and military applications. Dr. Jackman joined MSOE in 1989 as an adjunct faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering department. In 1995, she became the program director of the newly created Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering (MSEV) program. She moved to the Architectural Engineering and Building Construction Department (now the CAECM Department) in 1997, in order to head up its Mechanical Systems specialty within Architectural Engineering and to continue on with her MSEV administrative duties. In 2002, she became CAECM department chair, a position she held through the end of the 2013-2014 academic year.

Dr. Jackman was the Self Study Coordinator for MSOE's 2014 regional reaccreditation efforts.

Currently, Dr. Jackman is the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Assessment and is also the Accreditation Liaison Officer for MSOE to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), MSOE's regional accrediting body. In this new role, she is responsible for general compliance with HLC policies and regulations, and is responsible for the collection, organization, and analysis of institutional data used by the MSOE administration to drive informed decision making. .

Dr. Jackman is a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin and registered as a LEED Accredited Professional . Her scholarly interests include building envelope design, water reuse and recycling, renewable energy and sustainability issues.
