SE Night -> April 3, 2014

Walter Schilling

Software Engineering students and alumni:

Many of you were able to attend the SE Night we held this past fall. We've got another great SE Night planned for early next month. We hope you can join us."

On Thursday night, April 3, 2014, Dedicated Computing (http://www.dedicatedcomputing.com/) is sponsoring for you the second SE Night for the year. The agenda is still not entirely finalized, but there are two exciting things that we can share. First off, MSOE will be receiving the donation of a Xeon Phi supercomputer that will eventually be available for student use on projects and undergraduate research. The Xeon Phi is the same technology that is present in the world’s fastest supercomputer, the Tianhe-2. Second, Intel will be presenting a discussion on parallelization and its impact on software engineering. Effectively using multicores in software design is considered to be the next great challenge for software engineering. In addition, we will have the normal networking with alumni and industry representatives, senior design presentations, and a discussion from Dedicated Computing about building specialized software.

In order to properly plan for the event, it is important for you to register by no later than Friday, March 21, 2014. Registration will be handled at the following link:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1X5CKP_SoIQdUgBygZBGgzpalJa_YVAifF3emLTi-DXc/viewform

We look forward to seeing you on April 3, 2014.

Note: Due to the expected popularity of this event, it is important that you register early, as we are limited in the number of attendees for the event.
