Summer 2021

Duties and Responsibilities (in order of priority)

Front Desk First Point of Contact (in-person & phone)

  • Immediately greet and welcome student, employer, faculty, and staff visitors (in-person & phone)
  • Ensure students successfully complete the drop-in and appointment sign-in process
  • Direct visitors (in-person or phone) to appropriate team member
  • If needed/requested, provide students with direction as to how to access resources and/or schedule career coaching appointments

  Phone Etiquette

  • Professionally answer main phone line
  • Provide accurate information or take information for immediate follow-up by team members
  • Forward calls to appropriate team member or take written messages
  • Provide students with direction as to how to access resources and/or schedule career coaching appointments

Administrative

  • Provide Handshake navigation help to students
  •  Data entry and analysis
  • Document creation
  •  Monitor and organize office supplies and resource inventory
  •  Assist with office administrative work as needed: creating and maintaining spreadsheets, copying, scanning, and filing documents etc.
  • Assist with Career Fair
  •  Printing and distributing promotional materials
  •  Pre-event preparations, as well as day of event set-up  

Other

  • Miscellaneous administrative, logistical, and operational duties as assigned
  • Read, comprehend, and closely follow Student Assistant Manual

  • Handshake
