Jesse Lambrecht is fast. Really fast. He currently holds the school record for the indoor 5k (15:33) and is one of only nine Raiders to break the 26-minute mark in an 8k race (and he’s done it twice). Lambrecht is a member of MSOE’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams. The sophomore mechanical engineering major is currently ranked fifth fastest in school history.

Lambrecht came to MSOE because of its reputation and location. “I love the small campus, it’s really easy to get around,” he said. “MSOE is integrated in the city and the urban campus makes it easy to find things to do around Milwaukee.”

“My favorite thing about MSOE is how close everything feels. It’s really easy to get to know your professors and your cohort due to the small class sizes.”

Besides running for the Raiders, Lambrecht is involved in MSOE’s student chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the rocket team. He also had a summer internship at Reynolds Consumer Products where he used CAD software to work on machine design.

New this year, Lambrecht is a CREATE Student Fellow. “I really liked the idea of bringing community projects to the classroom. Doing real-world projects is a very effective way to learn. I like everything that CREATE stands for and I feel that it betters every student’s education at MSOE.”
