Student Support Services

Student Support Services is a TRIO (program funded by the U.S. Department of Education designed to retain and graduate MSOE students who have the academic potential to succeed in college but may need additional support and guidance in order to be successful. The program focuses on the total development of eligible MSOE students.

The Student Support Services staff maintains a close association with faculty, staff and university administrators to facilitate the individual needs of program participants so they may experience the full gamut of MSOE life. Student Support Services is located on the ground floor of the Student Life and Campus Center, room CC-27 in the TRIO programs department.

  • Counseling: academic, financial aid, personal and career
  • Peer tutoring
  • Small group review classes
  • Peer mentoring
  • Tours of local businesses and industries
  • Seminars on time management and study skills
  • Remedial support classes
  • Special services for students with disabilities

Eligibility Requirements

Student Support Services is 90 percent federally funded through the Department of Education. To be eligible, students must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Low income (as defined by the federal government)
  • First generation in your family to go to college
  • Documented disability

Making a Difference

Student Support Services consistently has retained and graduated 80 percent of its participants. Over the past 20 years, MSOE’s Student Support Services has facilitated the graduation of more than 425 students.

Writing Center and drop-in tutoring available while Raider Center is open.

Mon-Thurs: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Friday: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Saturday: Closed

Sunday: 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
