Sam Kean, bestselling author of “The Icepick Surgeon: Murder, Fraud, Sabotage, Piracy, and Other Dastardly Deeds Perpetrated in the Name of Science,” will visit MSOE on Friday, Jan. 13 from 12 to 1 p.m. for a free book chat in the NVIDIA Auditorium at Diercks Hall, 1025 N. Milwaukee St. Following his talk, Kean will sign copies of his book.  

Kean is the New York Times bestselling author of six books, including “The Icepick Surgeon,” “The Bastard Brigade,” “The Dueling Neurosurgeons” and “The Disappearing Spoon.” His books have won multiple international awards for literary science writing, and his work has been featured on NPR’s “Radiolab,” “All Things Considered,” and “Fresh Air.” His podcast, The Disappearing Spoon, debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts for science podcasts.
