M.S. in Nursing named to Best Online Programs by U.S. News and World Report
Milwaukee School of Engineering’s online master’s in nursing (MSN) program was recognized by U.S. News and World Report on their 2026 Best Online Nursing Programs rankings. This is the first year that the program has been recognized by U.S. News.
Nursing programs across the country were evaluated based on their performance in the following categories: engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer assessment, services and technologies and student excellence.
The MSOE MSN offers two tracks for students looking to advance their nursing careers, a business-oriented Executive Leadership and Management Track or a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Track for those seeking to provide mental health care. Courses are blended meeting synchronously and asynchronously taught by distinguished MSOE nursing faculty.
“Being named as a top MSN program is an honor and reinforces that we are meeting our mission,” said Dr. Carol Sabel, School of Nursing program director and professor. “It also reflects the strengths of our program, which include academic rigor and innovative teaching within a supportive learning environment. Our faculty are committed to mentoring, advising and helping students navigate both class and practicum experiences. This level of engagement between our students and faculty contributes to our strong student performance, high retention and positive outcomes.”
In its 14th year, the U.S. News Best Online Programs are designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year's edition evaluated more than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree programs using metrics specific to online learning. The rankings include only degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
