Milwaukee School of Engineering has been named a winner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s 2026 Top Workplaces in Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin award, marking the third Top Workplace honor MSOE has earned this year. Only 164 organizations made this list.

This latest recognition highlights MSOE’s continued focus on fostering a people centered workplace culture grounded in trust, collaboration and shared purpose. Earlier this year, MSOE received the Top Workplaces for Higher Education award, a national honor from Energage and The Princeton Review, and was also named a 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplace, placing the university among top employers both nationally and within the higher education sector.

“Together, these honors highlight our commitment to creating an environment where faculty and staff are supported in their professional growth and empowered to achieve MSOE’s vision of preparing leaders to solve the diverse technical challenges of today and tomorrow,” said President Eric T. Baumgartner, Ph.D.

Unlike many awards based on nominations or external benchmarks, the Top Workplaces recognition is driven entirely by authentic employee feedback. The honor is based on results from a confidential survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC, measuring key aspects of the employee experience such as feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow, and empowered to do meaningful work.
