Why are MSOE scholarships so great?  Yes, it takes some effort to apply, but your odds of being selected to receive the money are much better than with national scholarships!  Think about it, your field of competition is smaller, and someone from MSOE, or in some cases, a current high school student who will be attending MSOE in the fall, will be selected as the recipient.  Sometimes there are only 10-20 applications.  You do the math.  Is it worth your time?  Yes!  If you meet all the criteria, definitely apply, and if you meet most of the criteria, it is also often worth applying.  There are some great internship opportunities that are sometimes offered to scholarship recipients too.  Face it, an hour or so now is a lot easier than working to earn money to pay off your loans later…
