MSOE has been named a 2025–26 College of Distinction. Colleges of Distinction recognizes universities across the United States for their educational impact and student-centered approach to undergraduate education.

Through extensive research and interviews, Colleges of Distinction identifies institutions that make a meaningful impact on students’ lives. Those universities are then awarded based on the unique evaluation criteria, the Four Distinctions. Those include:

• Great Teaching – small class sizes, dedicated faculty and an emphasis on critical thinking
• Vibrant Communities – a welcoming campus environment that fosters personal growth

In addition to the title of College of Distinction, MSOE was also named a Wisconsin College of Distinction, Private College of Distinction, Affordable College of Distinction and was recognized as a College of Distinction for its engineering programs.
