MSOE named a TIME Magazine America’s Best College
Milwaukee School of Engineering has been recognized as one of America's Best Colleges of 2026–2027 by TIME. This is the first-year TIME Magazine, in partnership with Statista, have released this ranking. MSOE was the second-highest rated school in Wisconsin, at #174.
Thousands of colleges and universities across the United States were evaluated, and only 500 were named to the list. They were ranked based on three pillars: student outcomes (75%), learning environment (15%) and attractiveness (10%). Colleges were evaluated based on data from the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
Emphasis was placed on student outcomes: graduation rates and graduates’ earnings; followed by student-to-faculty ratio, expenditure per student and diversity; and “attractiveness,” which considers how prospective students search for a school (based on admission and enrollment yield rates).
MSOE’s students continue to see success while enrolled and upon graduation with a 96% career outcomes rate (class of 2024–25) and an average starting salary of $77,161.
