Milwaukee School of Engineering has been named a Top Workplace for Higher Education. This new national honor celebrates colleges and universities that foster people-first workplace cultures where faculty, staff and administrators feel engaged, valued and empowered to thrive.

The Top Workplaces for Higher Education award launched in 2026 and comes from Energage and The Princeton Review. It recognizes higher education institutions that invest in creating vibrant workplace environments rooted in trust and purpose.

Being recognized as a Top Workplace for Higher Education highlights our ongoing dedication to creating a culture at MSOE where faculty and staff feel valued, supported and inspired to contribute to our mission and to embody our values of collaboration, excellence, inclusion, innovation, integrity and stewardship on a daily basis, said President Eric T. Baumgartner, Ph.D.

Honorees are evaluated based on employee feedback collected through Energage’s research-backed Workplace Survey methodology. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling engaged; respected and supported; enabled to grow; fairly valued; and empowered to execute. MSOE outpaced the national average in these categories by 4-8% among colleges and universities across the United States and tied the national average for feeling closely aligned.
